Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s) of Students in Grades 6, 7, and 8: 

Beginning in grade 6, our students are expected to change into “gym clothing” for their Physical Education classes.   This requirement addresses issues related to basic hygiene.   These concerns have indicated the need for specific attire to be worn during physical activities when young adults are prone to perspire.  Physical education attire at Lincoln Orens Middle School consists of navy blue athletic shorts (7” seam) and a grey short-sleeved cotton tee shirt. You may purchase these items in whatever store or through whatever catalog you choose. 

PTA has made arrangements to organize these purchases at a reasonable price through the Island-Park vendor, E-Van Creations.  Items purchased will have the “Island Park Phys Ed” logo written on both the tee-shirt and the shorts.   Please see the attached flyer detailing the cost and available sizes.     

If you would like to purchase either of these items, complete and forward your order form (see attachment) with a check, payable to “Island Park PTA”, by September 29th   and return to the school in an envelope marked, “Island Park PTA”.     When your order has arrived, it will be distributed to your child at the school.   If you have any questions, please contact Christina Torres at: islandparkpta11558@gmail.com. 

Please be sure to mark your child’s name on all garments, using a permanent marker.    

Our gym clothing dress code will begin November 1, 2023.   Please note, however, that students who order Island Park gym clothing are required to change into their own physical education attire until their uniform order arrives.
